About a week before Mother's Day, I asked my mom if she would like to do anything special to celebrate. She said she would think about it and let me know. A few nights before Mother's Day she called me and asked if I would like to milk goats with her for Mother's Day! YES! Although my mom has quite a few of her own goats, none of hers had kids (did you know that kid is the proper term for baby goat?) and therefor could not be milked! We drove about 3 hours to Edinburg, Texas to teach someone else how to milk a goat and make goat cheese.
Side note: is goat selling a common occurrence in your life? I suspect that most people may go their entire lives without talking about goat selling, milking, breeding, trading, raising, chasing, grooming, brushing, feeding, and etc...
On to the goat milking already! But first this big puppy!
If you have never had fresh goat milk and fresh goat cheese, believe me, you have not lived! I can not even quantify the difference between the fresh stuff and what you get at a grocery store or restaurant. I may be biased, since I'm pretty sure my mom makes the BEST goat cheese dishes in the whole world.

The End :)
